Design and Build

The chassis uses a mix of aluminum alloy and plastic, balancing durability and portability at 1.74 kg. The notebook passed MIL-STD-810H related checks in the source review, and the construction is described as well assembled, without major creaks or easy flex. Its silver finish and minimal visual accents fit office environments and keep fingerprints less visible in daily use.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The 15.6-inch IPS panel offers Full HD resolution and matte coating, which helps reduce glare in bright rooms. Viewing angles are stable and color rendering is suitable for office and multimedia tasks. The main limitation is brightness, reported at up to 250 nits, so strong outdoor light can still be challenging. Audio comes from two stereo speakers with clear but moderate volume, while the 720p webcam and dual-direction microphone support routine video calls.

Keyboard and Input

The spill-resistant keyboard is one of the practical highlights for business use. It keeps a familiar layout, includes a numeric keypad, and provides medium key travel with a comfortable response for long typing sessions. The clickpad responds accurately to gestures and everyday navigation. A fingerprint scanner is optional in this configuration.

Performance, Ports, and Battery

With a 4-core Intel Core i7-1165G7, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16 GB RAM, and SSD storage, the ProBook 450 G8 handles office multitasking and typical professional workloads confidently. Port selection is broad for business scenarios, including USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, RJ-45, and an SD card reader, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 for modern wireless use. The 45 Wh battery is reported at around 7.5 hours or more in balanced use, with up to roughly 8 to 9.5 hours in lighter web and video scenarios at reduced brightness.

Verdict

HP ProBook 450 G8 is a practical business notebook for users who need a reliable 15.6-inch work machine with solid construction, productive hardware, and versatile connectivity. Its strongest points are everyday usability, keyboard practicality, and balanced mobility. The main compromise is the display brightness, which is serviceable indoors but not ideal for very bright environments.
