Editor note: This English review is an original adaptation based on the Notebook-Center.ru source review.

Overview

The HP EliteBook 845 G7 is a 14-inch business laptop built around AMD Ryzen Pro hardware. In this configuration, it combines an eight-core Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U, 16 GB of memory, and a 512 GB SSD. The chassis is compact and light for office travel, and the cooling behavior is quiet in everyday use. The main compromise is the display brightness, which is limited for bright environments.

Design and Build

The laptop uses an aluminum body with internal reinforcement, aiming for low flex while keeping weight under control. Build quality is strong in the keyboard deck and lid, and the matte surfaces hide fingerprints reasonably well. Access for upgrades is practical, with serviceable memory and SSD slots after removing the bottom panel.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The 14-inch Full HD IPS panel delivers decent contrast and acceptable color behavior for office use, but the measured brightness level in the source review is low for outdoor work. This is the biggest usability limit if you often work in direct light. Speakers can fill a medium room for calls or background media, while bass response is limited. The 720p webcam is usable for meetings and includes a privacy shutter plus IR support.

Keyboard, Touchpad, and Security

The keyboard offers a business-focused layout with spill resistance and two-level backlighting. Key feel is quiet with clear feedback, suitable for long typing sessions. A TrackPoint is included, with dedicated buttons, and the touchpad supports multi-touch gestures. A fingerprint scanner adds quick login security.

Performance, Ports, and Battery Behavior

Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U and 16 GB RAM provide strong everyday performance for office multitasking, browser-heavy workflows, and general productivity. Integrated Vega graphics can handle light games at reduced settings. Port selection is broad for business usage, including dual USB-A, dual USB-C, HDMI, smart card, and SIM support. In light web workloads, the source indicates roughly a full workday from the 53 Wh battery; under heavy load, runtime drops significantly. Thermals stay controlled, and fan noise remains modest under load.

Verdict

HP EliteBook 845 G7 is a practical business notebook with solid construction, quiet behavior, upgrade flexibility, and competitive AMD performance. Its key compromise is screen brightness, which reduces comfort in bright ambient light. For office-focused users who value reliability, security features, and balanced mobility, it remains a sensible option.
