Overview

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16IHU6 is a 16-inch everyday laptop for users who need a larger 16:10 screen, comfortable typing, and enough performance for office work, content tasks, and light gaming. In this configuration, it combines an Intel Core i7-11370H, 16 GB RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics. The main trade-off is heat under heavy load and non-upgradable memory.

Design and Build

The laptop uses an aluminum chassis with a clean, understated look. Matte gray panels resist fingerprints reasonably well, and build quality is solid with no major flex in normal use. The hinge opens easily with one hand and supports up to about 150 degrees. At 1.9 kg, it is portable enough for office trips, but it is not the lightest option for frequent travel.

Display and Multimedia

The 16-inch 2560x1600 IPS panel is a key strength. The 16:10 ratio gives more vertical space for documents and web work, while the matte finish helps with reflections. Reported brightness is around 350 nits, contrast about 1300:1, and refresh rate 120 Hz. Color coverage is listed at 99% sRGB and 75% AdobeRGB, so it is suitable for general visual work. Speakers are fine for video and calls, but bass is limited. The 720p IR webcam is basic for image quality, but practical for video meetings and Windows Hello login.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The island-style keyboard includes a numpad and two-level backlight. Key travel is short but clear, and long typing sessions remain comfortable. The touchpad surface is smooth, supports standard multitouch gestures, and tracks accurately for routine productivity tasks.

Performance, Ports, and Battery

With the Core i7-11370H and MX450, the system handles daily multitasking and media work without issue, and can run lighter games. The 1 TB SSD and 16 GB RAM are enough for most users in this class, though RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded. Port selection is strong for this segment, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-C charging support, two USB-A ports, HDMI, and an SD card reader. Battery life is reported around 9 hours for web browsing and 10-10.5 hours for 1080p streaming, while heavy load can drain it in about 1.5 hours. Under gaming load, chassis temperatures can rise significantly and fan noise can reach around 45 dB.

Verdict

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16IHU6 is a practical all-round notebook with a high-quality 16:10 display, good keyboard comfort, balanced everyday performance, and useful connectivity. It is a strong fit for users who want one machine for work, study, and light entertainment. The main compromises are heat under sustained load and fixed 16 GB memory.
