Design and Build
The laptop uses an anodized aluminum chassis with a matte black finish and a compact footprint. Build quality is strong, with no notable flex in the base and a stable hinge that opens easily with one hand. At 1.4 kg and 15 mm thickness, it is very portable for a gaming-focused machine. The main downside is that the exterior can pick up fingerprints quickly.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
The 13.3-inch matte IPS panel runs at 120 Hz with Full HD resolution and up to 350 nits brightness. In indoor use, image quality is sharp and vivid, with reported 100% sRGB coverage and around 75% AdobeRGB coverage. Speakers are clear for this size class but have limited bass and headroom. The 1 MP IR webcam is usable for video calls and supports fast Windows Hello login, though image detail is modest.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard has a familiar layout and short key travel with clear feedback, so it works well for both typing and gaming. Razer Chroma software allows RGB lighting customization, but there is no per-key backlight control. The glass touchpad is large, smooth, and accurate, with responsive multi-touch gesture support.
Performance and Gaming
For everyday tasks, the Intel Core i7-1065G7 and 16 GB memory provide a fast and stable experience. For gaming and heavier graphics work, the GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q delivers practical Full HD performance. In the source testing, titles such as Doom Eternal and Escape from Tarkov run around 50-55 fps at high settings, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is about 45 fps, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are around 40-45 fps.
Ports, Battery, Heat, and Noise
Connectivity includes two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.1 ports, and a combo audio jack, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Battery life is strong for a compact gaming laptop: roughly 8 hours in web browsing and around 2 hours under heavy gaming load, with about 1.5 hours for a full charge. The key compromise is thermals and acoustics: the chassis can get noticeably hot in load scenarios, and fan noise can rise to a clearly audible level.
Verdict
Razer Blade Stealth 13 (2020) is a rare option for users who want gaming capability in a truly portable 13-inch format. Its main strengths are premium build quality, a fast 120 Hz display, and useful real-world gaming performance for its size. The main compromises are soldered memory, higher heat under load, and louder fan noise during demanding tasks.
